From Europe/Asia to Rio de Janeiro

From Europe:

There are direct flights from all major airports in Europe with all larger airlines. Check Skyscanner or Kayak to find the best deals. All direct flights go to the international airport in Rio called Galeão (GIG).

From Asia:

Unless you wanna go via Europe (BA, KLM, Air France, LH) the only airline with a 1-stop flight is Emirates. However you may find better deals with Etihad or Quatar. Unfortunately the latter are flying to Sao Paulo only. If you're considering the latter we recommend to book a domestic flight from Sao Paulo to the domestic airport in Rio called Santos Dumont (SDU) which is closer to the city centre.

Domestic flights in Brasil:

The local low-cost airline is called GOL. Alterntatively check TAM and Avianca.

 

 

From Rio to Buzios

Buzios is a very charming beach town located 2.5h drive away from Rio. We recommend you rent a car to go to Buzios, so you can have more flexibility. Beautiful Búzios sits on a jutting peninsula scalloped by 17 beaches, so with the car you can explore the region better... Otherwise we will provide a bus from Rio to Buzios and from Buzios to Rio for those not keen to rent a car.
